Cuba pays tribute to the victims of the attack against Venezuela in Türkiye

The Cuban Ambassador to Türkiye, Alejandro Díaz Palacios, signed the book of condolences opened at the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in posthumous tribute to the victims of the cowardly military aggression by the United States against that sister nation, which culminated in the kidnapping of the Constitutional President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and his wife.

Cuba strongly condemns this aggression, which constitutes a serious violation of international law and an attack on the self-determination, sovereignty, and peace of peoples. Thirty-two Cuban combatants lost their lives in this criminal attack, who were in Venezuela as a sign of the most genuine internationalism and solidarity of the Cuban people.

Cuba's presence in the book of condolences reaffirms the historic brotherhood between Cuba and Venezuela, as well as Cuba's ongoing commitment to defending peace, the self-determination and independence of peoples, and respect for the principles of international law.
