From April 16 to 18, 2024, the second part of the 14th Assembly Session of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) took place in Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates. The Cuban delegation was led by our Deputy Minister of Energy and Mines, Tatiana Amarán Bogachova.
In her speech at the Ministerial Session of Small Island Developing States, the Deputy Minister referred to our country's strategies to achieve the energy transition. Likewise, the Cuban representative participated in the High-Level Public-Private Dialogue to reach 100% with renewable sources, where she reiterated the impact of the U.S. blockade on access to financing for our energy transition.
The Cuban delegation was also integrated by Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, Ambassador of Cuba to the UAE; Marlenis Águila Zamora, renewable energy specialist at the Ministry of Energy and Mines; and Ailyn Martínez Sarduy, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba in the UAE.
