Oslo, June 23, 2025. Juan Alfonso Fernández González, advisor to the Cuban Ministry of Communications, is in Norway to participate in the Internet Governance Forum (IGF 2025), taking place in Lillestrøm from June 23 to 27.
On the first day of the event, Fernández González, who is a member of the UN Secretary-General's Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group on Internet Governance, participated in the panel on the 20th anniversary of the Working Group on Internet Governance (WGIG), as well as in the meeting of participants from Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Internet Governance Forum is the UN's main platform for dialogue and collaboration on the future of the internet and global digital development. More than 6,000 participants from around the world are attending this edition. The Forum's agenda includes topics such as artificial intelligence, sustainability and energy in digital infrastructure, protection of children and young people in the digital environment, safeguarding fundamental rights and freedoms, among others.
