Oslo, September 7, 2022. After two years without face-to-face meeting due to the pandemic of Covid-19, the National Agencies from more than 150 countries gather again to address current issues on the ISBN, and Cuba is present.
The director of the Cuban ISBN Agency, Daymaris Cordero Martínez, is participating at the ISBN Annual General Meeting 2022, which takes place from today until September 9 at the National Library of Norway. She is representing the country's publishing sector and updating on correct uses of that important code for books.
The Cuban ISBN Agency celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2021 and currently works with 180 publishing houses to which it registers, trains and assigns the ISBNs requested to publish books, both printed and digital. It belongs to the Cuban Book Chamber, which is subordinated to the Cuban Book Institute belonging to the Ministry of Culture.
The International ISBN Agency, based in London, organizes these meetings every year. In those occasions, the National Agencies provide information and exchange on the subject and everything related to the publishing world. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
