Kingston, 29 March 2023. The Third Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica Anabel Landrón Ochoa participated in the Spanish Immersion Day 2023, organised by the Spanish-Jamaican Foundation and the Ministry of Education and Youth of Jamaica.
The Cuban diplomat exchanged with Kingston high school students on Cuban history, culture and traditions. She also highlighted the historic ties of brotherhood that unite both nations and the significance of José Martí, Antonio Maceo and our Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro for Latin America. This academic exercise, carried out in Spanish, contributed to the preparation of the students for the proficiency exams that they will take in April.
The event was also attended by the diplomatic representations of Venezuela, Ecuador, Mexico and Spain, as well as Spanish teachers, including members of the Cuban Educational Brigade working in Jamaica.
