Cuba present at the VI International Humanitarian Forum of Baku

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Alfredo Nieves Portuondo, participated in the VI International Humanitarian Forum of Baku that started at the Heydar Aliyev Center, in the capital of this Caucasian nation.

During a meeting with the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, Abulfas Garayev, the Cuban diplomat thanked Cuba for its invitation to attend the event and considered it very important to hold the forum.

The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the First Lady, Mehriban Aliyeva, attended the official opening ceremony of the meeting.

Initiated by the presidents of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation in 2010, the Baku International Humanitarian Forum is an annual platform for celebrated representatives of the political, scientific and cultural elite of the world, including statesmen, winners of the Nobel Prize in various fields of science and leaders of influential international organizations who hold dialogues, discussions and exchanges of views on a wide range of global issues.

The VI International Humanitarian Forum of Baku focused on identifying and seeking to liberate creative ideas and energies that can shape the world of the future and respond to it.

The Forum, held under the slogan "Forming a New World and a New Humanity: Creativity and Human Development", the 6th International Humanitarian Forum of Baku brings together 581 delegates from 86 countries and 24 international organizations.
