The director of Sub-Saharan Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Gisela García Rivera, successfully concluded her working visit to The Gambia. The Cuban diplomat had the opportunity to confirm the good state of bilateral relations between the two countries and ratified the willingness to continue supporting the African nation in the training of human resources and medical cooperation, as well as expanding collaboration to other sectors of common interest. The Director of Sub-Saharan Africa carried out an extensive program that included positive meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Hon.Ousainou Darboe and other directors of the Gambian Foreign Ministry; as well as with the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, the Speaker of the Gambian National Assembly and members of the Association of Solidarity with Cuba. This visit offered the possibility of thanking the invariable support that Gambia has given to the struggle of Cuba for the elimination of the blockade; in matters of candidacies and other initiatives in the multilateral sphere.
