Visit to the Medical Brigade in Kanifing
The Chargé d'Affaires of the Cuban Embassy in Gambia, Laura Elízabeth Martínez Galindo, together with the head of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Gambia, Dr. Juan Oquendo Montes, and other colleagues, paid a visit to the Cuban Medical Brigade in Kanifing with the aim of observing the work carried out by Cuban health professionals in the country.
Cuba salutes The Gambia on the 60th anniversary of its independence
On February 18th 1965, the Republic of The Gambia achieved its independence, putting an end to more than a century of colonial rule and ushering in a new era of self-determination and sovereignty. On the 60th anniversary of this momentous event, the government and people of Cuba express their most sincere congratulations to the sister African nation.
African Union reiterates its rejection of the blockade against Cuba
At the 38th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union (AU), the Heads of State and Government adopted a resolution condemning, for the sixteenth consecutive time, the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba.
In addition, the document calls once again for Cuba to be removed from the unilateral list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism and expresses deep concern about the extraterritorial impact of the blockade, particularly the application of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act.
Gambian parliamentarian reaffirms support for Cuba and rejects the blockade
The Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Cuban Embassy in The Gambia, Laura Elízabeth Martínez Galindo, held a fruitful meeting with the President of the Gambia-Cuba Legislative Friendship Group, Mr. Madi Ceesay. During the meeting, the strong friendly relations between the parliaments of the two countries were discussed and the commitment to strengthen the ties of cooperation and solidarity was reaffirmed.
