New York. Last October 10, on a date of great symbolism, Cuba was elected, for the sixth time, a member of the Human Rights Council, in the plenary meeting convened by the 78th UN General Assembly.
Cuba obtained 146 votes that represent the support of more than two thirds of the members of the United Nations and the largest amount for the aspiring countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, which demonstrates the prestige achieved in the body and the trust placed by the international community so that the country continues to integrate that organization between 2024-2026.
