Cuba reiterates its firm and unwavering adherence to the principle of "one China".

Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba reiterates its firm and unwavering adherence to the principle of "one China" and recognizes Taiwan as an inalienable part of its territory, in view of the attempts by secessionist forces and external actors to take advantage of this issue to undermine the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the People's Republic of China, interfere in its internal affairs and undermine regional and international peace and security.

Cuba's position is consistent with United Nations General Assembly´s resolution 2758 of October 25th, 1971, and with the position of the overwhelming majority of the international community that officially recognises the People's Republic of China as the only and legitimate representative of all the Chinese people.

Cuba also recognises and supports the efforts of the Chinese Government to achieve national reunification.
