The US government this week included Cuba in its blacklist of countries that do not do enough to combat human trafficking, a measure that can lead to the imposition of coercive measures. The President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, denounced this accusation to which he catalogs of immoral, deceitful and perverse. He considers it a US slander that attacks Cuban medical collaboration, an example of solidarity, humanity and noble and legitimate cooperation among the countries of the South. Likewise, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, rejected the arbitrary and unilateral qualification and reiterated that Cuba is distinguished by a policy of zero tolerance and exemplary performance in the prevention and fight against trafficking in persons with low incidence of this scourge. The Minister said that the result that Cuba shows are associated with its social achievements, citizen security and equal opportunities. This is another slander to justify new measures of hostility and the US lacks moral authority to make assessments or ratings of countries. The Cuban Minister also said that the United States is the country with the largest budget dedicated to the production and trade of weapons, which daily cause death and pain.
