Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla rejected Israel's policies of annexation and construction of new settlements in the West Bank, which violate international law and disregard resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly.
On his social media account, the head of Cuban diplomacy stated that these measures undermine the exercise of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, seek to prevent the recognition of an independent Palestinian state, and undermine efforts toward peace in the Middle East.
Israel's security cabinet recently approved measures aimed at tightening Israeli control over the occupied West Bank and further weakening the already limited powers of the Palestinian Authority.
The office of extremist Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced in a statement the decisions that would make it easier for Jewish settlers to force Palestinians to cede land, adding that "we will continue to bury the idea of a Palestinian state."
