Cuba is represented in the Bahamian edition of the Model United Nations 2019.

Nassau, March 31, 2019. Cuba was one of 13 nations chosen and represented in the Bahamian edition of the Model United Nations (MUN) 2019, held on March 29 in the capital of this Caribbean nation. The event, of annual frequency, had the active participation of students from different islands of the Bahamian archipelago and illustrious figures of the academic sector, who acted as judges together with officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Radio Hosts on political issues. This event was also attended by members of the Diplomatic Corp and Consular Corp in the Bahamian capital.

Under the theme "Water for Life", the young Isaiah Strachan and Riquel Carey of St. John's College, presented with passion and solid arguments the positions of Cuba in the defense of the human right to water, an essential resource for the life and social development. In particular, they highlighted the efforts of the Cuban government to guarantee the access and the adequate and sustainable use of this precious liquid. For this exercise, the Cuba team received advice from Professor Kirktiya Rolle and from the Cuban Embassy in The Bahamas.

MUN is an event sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Bahamas and the Rotary International organization. It is a simulation of the work of the General Assembly of the United Nations, centered on a topic of the multilateral agenda. Each team defends the perspective of the represented Member State. In this edition, other nations represented were: Brazil, China, Costa Rica, Haiti, Israel, South Africa, Sudan, Switzerland, The Netherlands, the United States, Venezuela and Yemen.
