Cuba Represented at the Socialism 2025 Conference Held in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, November 15, 2025. The Embassy of Cuba was represented at the Socialism 2025 Conference, organized by the Socialist Party of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.

The conference was one of the largest gatherings of socialists in Southeast Asia, with representatives from Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore, as well as representatives from Sri Lanka, Germany, and Venezuela.

More than 200 people participated in important discussions on opposition to imperialism, the struggle for peasant rights, women's liberation, the rise of the global far right, and the struggle for a free Palestine.

In addition to exchanging information on national experiences with socialist alliances, the discussion addressed how counter-hegemony manifests itself in a rapidly transforming world order, from the legacy of Bandung to the current BRICS formations, the possibilities and limitations of South-South cooperation and alternative development models, as well as social articulation and mobilization.

The participants considered it an enriching experience and an important contribution to rebuilding the militant left in Southeast Asia.

It was inspiring to see so many young people participating and debating for a better world.
