Abuja, January 10th 2026.— The Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in the Federal Republic of Nigeria received a message of profound support and solidarity sent on behalf of the Cuba Solidarity Movement, expressing fraternal accompaniment to the Cuban people and Government in the face of the pain caused by the death of 32 Cuban citizens during the atrocious terrorist attack perpetrated by the Government of the United States on the territory of the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela on January 3.
The message categorically condemns this criminal act, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international law, the sovereignty of nations, and the most basic principles of peaceful coexistence among states. It also denounces the direct responsibility of the Government of the United States and, in particular, its President, for promoting and executing policies of aggression, violence, and destabilization that claim innocent lives and seek to break the sovereign will of free peoples.
The text emphasizes that the blood shed by these 32 Cubans will not be in vain, as it strengthens the determination of Cuba and of the supportive peoples of the world to continue defending justice, dignity, and the right to self-determination. The Cuba Solidarity Movement reaffirms that, in the face of terror and imperial impunity, the moral strength of internationalist solidarity and revolutionary resistance rises.
The message also represents a renewed expression of the historic, firm, and unwavering solidarity of the Nigerian people with Cuba and its people—a bond forged in the shared struggle against colonialism, racism, foreign interference, and all forms of domination. Nigeria and Cuba, united by shared principles and values, continue to raise their voices in defense of truth, peace, and justice.
The Embassy of Cuba in Nigeria expressed its deep gratitude for this demonstration of brotherhood and support and reiterated that the Cuban people, faithful to their history of struggle and dignity, will honor the memory of their fallen sons and daughters, without ever renouncing their revolutionary ideals or their commitment to the peoples of the world.
