Cuba strengthens ties of friendship with solidarity organizations and Cubans residing abroad.

Geneva, 26 April 2026. In an excellent atmosphere of camaraderie, a meeting was held between Vice Prime Minister Inés María Chapman and representatives of the Cuba Solidarity Movement, as well as Cubans residing in Switzerland.

The Vice Prime Minister took the opportunity to brief the dozens of participants on the measures adopted by the Government to address the difficult circumstances faced by the Cuban people, resulting from the unprecedented intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the Government of the United States, as well as the recent energy siege aimed at suffocating the Cuban economy.

During the exchange, Inés María Chapman referred to the installation of solar panels, the efforts undertaken by workers in the sector to refine Cuban crude oil and maintain the viability of the national electricity system. She also addressed the challenges facing Cuba’s agro-industrial sector, as well as local-level measures being implemented, which demonstrate the resilience of the Cuban people.

In another part of her intervention, she expressed, on behalf of the Cuban people, gratitude for the solidarity gestures of the Cuba Solidarity Movement in Switzerland and of Cubans residing in the country, as well as for their ongoing support in denouncing the blockade.

At the end of the event, participants signed a strong declaration of solidarity with Cuba, calling for the lifting of the blockade, the removal of Cuba from the list of States allegedly sponsoring terrorism, rejecting the immoral campaign of the United States against Cuban medical cooperation, and condemning the aggressive policy of the U.S. administration, as well as its attempts to militarily invade Cuba.
