Cuba was elected Chair of the Troika for the Universal Periodic Review of the Federated States of Micronesia, within the framework of the Human Rights Council.

Geneva, January 23, 2026. Cuba was elected chair of the troika for the Universal Periodic Review of the Federated States of Micronesia.

The appointment is recognition of Cuba's constructive and responsible work in the Human Rights Council. This responsibility will be exercised in an impartial, respectful, and transparent manner.

Cuba has reiterated its support for and commitment to the Universal Periodic Review, a universal and non-discriminatory mechanism that allows for the realization of human rights in all countries of the world to be addressed on the basis of dialogue and cooperation, without interference.
