Kingston, Jamaica, 3 April 2019. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, attended the Spanish Immersion Day, held at the Tom Redcam public library in the capital of Jamaica.
The Honourable Alando Terrelonge, MP, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, had a brief exchange of views with the Cuban diplomat and took the opportunity to thank Cuba for its cooperation in the educational sector in Jamaica.
It is worth mentioning the active participation of Cuban teachers who provide educational services in the country, which contributed significantly to the success of the event.
The Spanish Immersion Day is held every year, with the aim of developing secondary school students' ability to communicate in Spanish and interact linguistically and culturally with Spanish speakers. This event promotes the participation of all the diplomatic missions of Spanish-speaking countries, with residence in Jamaica.
