New York, January 18, 2024.- Ambassador Pedro Luis Pedroso Cuesta, Special Coordinator for the Presidency of Cuba of the Group of 77 and China, at the Meeting of Senior Officials of the Third South Summit, assured that his country will continue to play an active and constructive role as a member of the G77 and China.
During his statement, Pedroso Cuesta reiterated Cuba's gratitude to the members of the G-77 for the support provided during the Cuban Chairmanship, a period that he described as a great responsibility and honor.
He also highlighted the role played by the G-77 in the multiple important multilateral meetings and processes that were held during the year 2023, reaffirming itself as the largest negotiating group of the United Nations and a fundamental actor for the necessary transformation of the economic order. current international.
Pedroso Cuesta recalled the G77 and China Summit held in Havana on the challenges for development and the role of science, technology and innovation, which demonstrated the capacity of this Group to rally around issues of vital importance for our countries.
Before concluding, Pedroso Cuesta reiterated his support and wished success to Uganda, the country that will hold the Chairmanship of G-77 and China in 2024.
