Kingston, Jamaica, 29 May 2019. The Ambassador of Cuba in Jamaica, Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Finance and Public Service of Jamaica, where she was received by the Member of Parliament and holder of that portfolio, Honourable Dr. Nigel Clarke.

Both officials agreed on the need and convenience of increasing economic, commercial and financial relations and cooperation in various fields of human activity between Cuba and Jamaica, based on geographical proximity, historical and cultural ties and the possibilities of complementation that both economies offer.

More than 350 Cuban collaborators currently serve in Jamaica, mostly in the fields of health and education. This figure could increase in the coming years, as cooperation deepens in these sectors and extends to others.
