Cuban Ambassador attends activities of the 47th ASEAN Summit

Kuala Lumpur, October 27, 2025. Cuban Ambassador Yadira Ledesma Hernández attended the opening of the 47th Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), under the rotating presidency of Malaysia.

Following this 47th Summit, ASEAN, as a regional bloc for political, economic, and sociocultural integration, has a new member: Timor-Leste, displaying its logo: "Inclusivity and Sustainability."

Cuba is honored to be a member of the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC).

It was also an interesting experience to participate in the interactive segment of the United Nations Day celebrations in the question and answer sessions with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, organized by the Malaysian Foreign Ministry.
