Cuban Ambassador attends central act for the 63rd Anniversary of Ghana's Independence

The Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, attended, together with the rest of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Ghana, the central act for the country's 63rd Anniversary of Independence, which took place in Kumasi, capital city of the Ashanti region.

The central event held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in that city, was chaired by the country's President, Mr. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who was accompanied by the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Keith Christopher Rowley, as guest of honor at the event. Also present were the Vice President of the country, Mr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, all accompanied by their wives.

On the afternoon and evening of the day of the celebration, the Ghanaian President and the Asantehene offered separate lunches and dinners in honor of the Trinidadian Prime Minister, also with the participation of the Diplomatic Corps, along with members of the government, different state organizations and other guests.
