Abuja, January 13th 2026.— The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Miriam Morales Palmeros, attended the Awards Gala organized in celebration of Nigeria’s Armed Forces Day, an event that brought together high-ranking civil and military authorities, members of the accredited diplomatic corps, and representatives of various national institutions.
The ceremony served as a solemn occasion to recognize the work, sacrifice, and dedication of the Nigerian Armed Forces in the defense of national sovereignty, security, and stability, as well as their contribution to peacekeeping and the maintenance of public order.
During the gala, the role of the Nigerian Armed Forces in strengthening national unity and their commitment to the principles of service to the people was highlighted. The event also provided an opportunity for interaction between diplomatic representatives and local authorities, reaffirming the bonds of mutual respect and cooperation between Nigeria and friendly nations.
The participation of Ambassador Morales Palmeros reaffirmed Cuba’s interest in continuing to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation with the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as well as its respect for and recognition of the role of Nigeria’s armed institutions in the country’s development and stability.
