Liurka Rodríguez Barrios, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to Cambodia, thanked Cambodia for its continued support to Cuba, especially against the US blockade. The Cuban diplomat condemned the fraudulent qualification of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism, announced by the United States government in a cynical and hypocritical act.
This thanks were made during a courtesy call on Dr. Ouk Rabun, Minister of Rural Development, on the morning of January 12, 2021. In addition to thanking Cambodia, she affirmed that Cuba will continue to cooperate with Cambodia in other relevant areas, such as agriculture and rural development.
Dr. Ouk Rabun extended a warm welcome to the Ambassador on her diplomatic mission in Cambodia and thanked Cuba for its support and cooperation with Cambodia since 1979. Cambodia's health sector has medical equipment and supplies.
Relations between the two countries are very good, such as exchanging experiences through various visits. In 1999, the academy accompanied Samdech Techo Hun Sen, the Prime Minister, on a visit to Cuba.
Dr. Ouk Rabun once again thanked Cuba and briefed her on the role of the Ministry of Rural Development, while also working with the Royal Government as well as the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of Covid 19.
The two sides discussed and pledged to further enhance cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of rural development. Liurka Rodriguez Barrios thanked the Minister for giving her the opportunity to meet her for the first time in 2021.
