Cuban ambassador to Cambodia is received by the Minister of the Environment

The Cuban ambassador to Cambodia, Liurka Rodríguez Barrios, was received by the Minister of the Environment, Eang Sophalleth, who heads the kingdom's delegation to the Summit of leaders of the Group of 77 and China on climate change. This event will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on December 2, within the framework of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The Caribbean diplomat thanked the Cambodian government for its enormous efforts to support the pro tempore presidency of Cuba of the G77 and China, and highlighted the importance of the member countries taking advantage of every space to promote the unity of the group, exchange criteria, and agree on positions regarding the current challenges.

The Cambodian leader expressed that he will travel to the aforementioned event with high expectations. Likewise, he appreciated Cuba's contributions in the training of human resources in his country, with emphasis on specialties within the agricultural sciences that have contributed to boosting the sector he leads.

Both interlocutors agreed to take advantage of the context of strengthening bilateral relations between Cuba and Cambodia, and extend cooperation in environmental matters.
