For about an hour, the Cuban diplomat addressed different issues, such as the state of relations between Cuba and the United States; the resurgence of the blockade and the application of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act; the policy of the current US administration towards Havana and the position of the Cuban-American community in this regard; the use of Cuba as an issue for electoral purposes by President Trump and his advisors; the impact and scope of the blockade, the consequences of the latest measures taken by the US to interfere in oil shipments to Cuba; the rejection and condemnation of the international community of the blockade, the results of the United Nations vote on the Cuban resolution against the blockade; illegal occupation by the US from the territory of the Guantánamo Naval Base; the position of Senator Marco Rubio on Solomon Islands decision to establish relations with China; the blocking of the accounts on Twitter of the main Cuban media during the intervention of President Miguel Díaz-Canel, in which he informed about the measures that the country must take to confront the current energy situation; Cuba's vision of the situation in Venezuela, his country's support for the Bolivarian Revolution and the impact for Caracas of the US economic sanctions and war.

The Cuban diplomat made special mention of the remarkably supportive presence of Cuba in Venezuela, with emphasis on the health, education, sports and other sectors with strong social impact, with the aim of refusing the absurd American accusations about Cuban military presence in the South American country.

Ambassador Alzugaray also referred to the state of relations between Cuba and New Zealand; the main issues, common interests and areas of cooperation, such as the impact of climate change; the effect of the US blockade against the Island on operations, business and commercial relations with New Zealand.
