THE BAHAMAS, June 30, 2017. –Once again the Cuban Ambassador in The Bahamas, Ismara Vargas Walter, emphasized her condemnation against the blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba, during a meeting with the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Darren Henfield, which took place at the headquarters of the Bahamian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As part of the exchange, the Ambassador expressed her strongest rejection of the recent declarations and measures announced by US President Donald Trump towards Cuba. The official conveyed the Cuban government's position in this regard.
For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs thanked the Ambassador for her words and referred to the extraterritorial effects of the blockade as an issue that affects all nations, including The Bahamas.
Once again, the Ambassador expressed her appreciation for the continued support of The Bahamas to Cuba at the United Nations against the blockade and expressed her desire to strengthen the bilateral relations.
