Cairo, March 19, 2025. Cuban Ambassador to Egypt, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, held this morning a cordial meeting with the Ambassador of the State of Palestine, H.E. Mr. Diab Allouh.
The Cuban diplomat reiterated Cuba's condemnation of the genocide committed by Israel against the Palestinian population in Gaza and the West Bank, and the violation of the ceasefire agreement by Israel, which in recent hours has caused more than 400 deaths and hundreds of wounded, most of them innocent civilians.
He also reaffirmed Cuba's unconditional support for the noble cause of the Palestinian people, which includes the creation of a sovereign and independent state on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Pellicer Moraga stressed that the cause of the Palestinian people is also the cause of Cuba and that both President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez were paying special attention to the relations between the two countries, and were constantly monitoring the situation in Gaza and the West Bank.
For his part, the Palestinian Ambassador highlighted the historic brotherly relations between Cuba and Palestine and thanked the island's firm position in support of the Palestinian people and their just cause. He also expressed his gratitude for Cuba's support for the training of young Palestinians with the granting of scholarships for the study of university and college degrees.
The Palestinian diplomat reaffirmed the determination of his people to continue resisting and to stay in their land even under the worst conditions. He conveyed that strenuous efforts are being made to re-establish the cease-fire and to allow the entry of humanitarian aid for the population in Gaza. (Embacuba Egipto)
