Cairo, 22 April 2026. Ambassador Alexander Pellicer Moraga took part in an event organised by Egyptian left-wing parties, where discussions took place on the imperialist and Zionist offensive against Iran and other peoples of the world.
In his address, the Cuban Head of Mission addressed the intensification of the blockade and sanctions against Cuba, emphasising the great suffering caused by the oil blockade imposed on the island, which leads to prolonged power cuts and the paralysis of the economy and basic services for the population, such as healthcare, transport and food production.
The diplomat reaffirmed the determination of the Cuban government and people to resist and defend our sovereignty and independence in the face of the possibility of military intervention against Cuba.
Those present acknowledged Cuba’s example of resistance against imperialism and reaffirmed their solidarity with the island in the face of threats from the United States. (EmbaCuba Egipto)
