The Honorable Andy Williams, Minister of Mobilization, Implementation and Transformation of Grenada, recently received the Ambassador of Cuba to that country, Yadirys Echenique Paz. During the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas related to public administration and institutional development.

The exchange acknowledged Cuba’s contribution to the training of specialists and the transfer of experiences. The Ambassador reaffirmed her country’s commitment to continue collaborating in technical assistance and training programs that support Grenada’s development.

For his part, Andy Williams, also a Member of Parliament and General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress Party, expressed his gratitude for Cuban solidarity and underscored that cooperation is a fundamental pillar in the relations between the two nations. He also conveyed his admiration for Cuba’s history and culture.

Diplomatic relations between Cuba and Grenada were established in 1979, following the triumph of the Grenadian Revolution led by Maurice Bishop. Since then, the two countries have maintained cooperation marked by solidarity, including the presence of Cuban medical brigades, the training of Grenadian professionals in Cuban universities, and infrastructure projects with significant social impact. Over nearly five decades, this relationship has proven to be a shining example of friendship and collaboration in the Caribbean.
