The Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González, attended the first anniversary´s celebration of Pan African TV, the channel born as a project pushed by Mr. Kwesi Pratt, leader of the Socialist Forum of Ghana (SFG) and also editor of the The Insight newspaper.
During his presentation, Mr. Kwesi Pratt highlighted the avatars of the project, as well as the dedication of the staff that work in the Channel. He commented that for a large part of the initial time of insertion in the radio electronic space, the workers carried out long working days without receive any remuneration.
The Pan African TV has become a reality. Its growing coverage covers Western Africa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of South Africa. Mr. Pratt informed that inside Ghana the Channel has strong audience in the Northern regions and how in these moments the direction of the Channel is evaluating the possibility of expanding its stations outside Accra.
The program of Pan African TV is aimed at providing a progressive vision of history, culture and contemporary reality. It is considered as an alternative TV Channel in front of the big television stations. In their screens denounce: the Zionist genocide against the Palestinian people, the Moroccan occupation of the Saharawi territory, and the US economic blockade against Cuba. It is a Channel committed to the just causes of the peoples.
At the ceremony were present representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, with whom Pan African Television has established working relationships, through reports, interviews and exchanges of information. The First Secretary of the Cuban Embassy, Julio Cesar Sánchez Martínez, also participated at the activity.
