Cuban Ambassador to Ghana highlights historical relations between Cuba and Africa

During the reception for the 27th Anniversary of the Independence of Namibia sponsored by the Embassy of that country in Accra, the Ambassador of Cuba, Pedro Luis Despaigne González and his Namibian counterpart, Mr. Charles B. Josob, made a joint interview to Metro TV television channel highlighting the meaning of this celebration for both peoples.

The Cuban diplomat talk about the historical bonds that have existed between Cuba and Africa, and highlighted the support provided by the Caribbean island to the African countries in achieving their complete independence; he took the opportunity to congratulate the Namibian people by so deserved celebration and reaffirmed the continuity of the Cuban cooperation with the brotherly continent, primarily in the fields of health and education.

The Namibian diplomat expressed his appreciation for the contributions made by Cuba to the independence of his country, and the compromise reached by the Cuban Revolution only to collect the remains of its fighters who died in Africa.
