Cuban Ambassador Gives Interview to Egyptian National Radio

Cairo, May 13, 2026. The Cuban Ambassador to Egypt, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, gave an exclusive interview to Egyptian National Radio in which he discussed the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries and highlighted areas where collaboration could be expanded in the future.

The diplomat highlighted the friendship established between Cuban leader Fidel Castro Ruz and Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser, and the high degree of agreement in their views on the main issues on the international agenda.

He also spoke about Cuban history and culture, and the achievements made by the Caribbean island in health, biotechnology, and sports despite the illegal blockade imposed by the United States for more than six decades. The Ambassador expressed his gratitude for Egypt’s unconditional support for the Cuban resolution against the blockade, which is presented every year at the UN General Assembly.

The interview highlighted Cuba’s natural, historical, and cultural attractions, which make it a premier destination in the Caribbean; the ambassador encouraged Egyptians to visit Cuba and enjoy its cuisine and hospitality.

The interview, broadcast in Arabic and Spanish, will have a national reach and will introduce Egyptian listeners to the history and culture of an island that is striving to keep them alive despite sanctions and threats. (EmbaCuba Egipto)
