St. George, March 3, 2026 – In a solemn audience, the Governor General of Grenada, Her Excellency Dame Cecile La Grenade, received the Credentials accrediting Yadirys Echenique Paz as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to that country.
During the meeting, the Governor welcomed the Cuban diplomat and wished her success in fulfilling her duties. For her part, the Ambassador expressed satisfaction and commitment upon assuming her new responsibility. Both parties highlighted the positive state of bilateral relations and their willingness to strengthen existing cooperation.
The exchange also provided an opportunity to express, on behalf of the Cuban people and government, gratitude for the Grenada government's traditional support of Cuba's just demand before the United Nations for the lifting of the blockade. The Governor was accompanied by the Director of Protocol of the Grenadian Foreign Ministry, Lyndeon George-Bellamy, and the Cuban Ambassador, Third Secretary Ariel Pazos Ortiz.
