The Cuban Ambassador Antonio Luis Pubillones Izaguirre, met with the Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Burundi, Jean de Dieu Ndikumana, at the headquarters of the Burundian Foreign Ministry, last 11 October, within the framework of the concurrence visit to Burundi made by the Antillean diplomat between the 8th and 11th of October.
During the meeting, both diplomats spoke in an atmosphere of cordiality about the good progress of bilateral relations and agreed on the will to strengthen the ties between the two nations. They also exchanged about issues on the international agenda.
The Cuban Ambassador thanked the Burundian leader for the traditional support of his country to the struggle of the Cuban people against the unjust and criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba for more than five decades, in full force and hardened even more by the new US administration.
The Permanent Secretary, for his part, ratified the support of his country to the Cuban draft resolution "Need to ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba, which will be voted in the General Assembly of the United Nations next October 31.
