Auckland, April 28, 2025.- The Cuban Ambassador to New Zealand, Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez, held a productive meeting with the President of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, Hon. Simon Bridges, at the institution’s headquarters. During the meeting, both parties discussed opportunities to strengthen economic and trade relations between Cuba and New Zealand.
The discussion built upon the fruitful virtual meeting held in late 2024 between Simon Bridges and the Vice President of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Tania Aguiar Fernández. On that occasion, both parties agreed on the importance of identifying strategic sectors and exploring new opportunities to expand and diversify bilateral trade relations.
As part of the commitment to furthering these ties, the President of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, Antonio Luis Carricarte Corona, extended an invitation to his New Zealand counterpart to visit Cuba this year. The visit would serve as a platform to deepen institutional exchanges and explore business cooperation opportunities.
This engagement reaffirms the mutual interest in strengthening ties between the business communities of both countries, fostering sustainable economic development, and enhancing international business collaboration.
