Cairo, April 20, 2025. The Cuban Ambassador, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, held a cordial meeting with the directors of the Egypt-Cuba Friendship Association, with whom he exchanged on various issues of interest.
The Cuban diplomat updated the members of the Association on the complex situation Cuba is going through due to the tightening of the blockade and the imposition of unprecedented sanctions that have caused shortages of fuel, food and medicines.
He also referred to the ferocious campaign implemented by the U.S. State Department to discredit the Cuban medical missions and deprive millions of people in Cuba and the world of basic health services.
For their part, the directors of the Association reaffirmed their support for Cuba in these complex times, while stressing the importance of reinforcing solidarity actions with the island and denouncing the new measures implemented by the Trump administration to bring about a change of system in the largest of the Antilles.
During the meeting, they highlighted the positive state of relations between Cuba and Egypt and the need to continue strengthening them, especially in the economic, commercial and cooperation spheres of common interest. (Embacuba Egipto)
