The fifth anniversary of the passage to eternity of Commander-President Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías was commemorated with a beautiful political-cultural show in which excellent presentations with revolutionary ideas shone, which were exhibited in various formats of speeches, anti-colonial poems and dramaturgical performances of a high progressive thinking; In the first place, the Cuban Ambassador, the Chargé d'Affaires and the Venezuelan Defense Attaché highlighted the legacy of the eternal Commander, who has much to do in Latin America and the Caribbean -like the sword of Bolívar and the ideology of Martí-; while the Barbadian speakers Dr Tennyson Joseph, "Bobby" Clarke and David Denny highlighted the lack of commitments of many political leaders of the region with their respective peoples and the need for the revolutionary thought of the Chavez and Fidel commanders to crown Latin American independence with a more just and integrated society throughout the Caribbean.
The cultural segment was animated by the poet and playwright Winston Farrell, who recited the anti-colonial poem by Kamau Brathwaite "Negus"; he was followed by the excellent declaimer Adrian Green, who recited one of his antislavery writings; then Cultural Ambassador Anthony "Mighty Gabby" Carter crowned his words of solidarity with his song dedicated to the leader of the Bolivarian revolution; finally the songs of the Caribbean progressive imaginary were heard, interpreted by the Lion Soul band directed by the passionate artist Onkphra Welch, who among other works interpreted Long Live Venezuela!
