Party General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam,Nguyen Phu Trong, receivedin Hanoi the outgoing Cuban Ambassador Herminio Lopez Diaz who pledged his continuous contributions to the development of bilateral ties between Vietnam and Cuba.
At the meeting, the Cuban diplomat expressed satisfaction with the progress made in Cuba-Vietnam ties, particularly in cooperation between the two parties, and partnerships in trade, investment, agriculture, defense, security, and people-to-people exchange, while promising to continue to contribute to the development of bilateral relations.
He appreciated the great support he had received from the Party, Government and public agencies throughout his tenure in Vietnam over the past four years, and Vietnam’s sharing its theoretical and practical experience in the respective economic models with Cuba.
The Party leader hailed Ambassador Herminio Lopez Diaz’s work during his tenure in Vietnam.
He asked Ambassador Herminio Lopez Diaz to convey his message of sympathies and condolences to President Raul Castro, the Party, State and people of Cuba over heavy losses caused by hurricane Irma.
