Wellington, August 7, 2017. - On the occasion of the presentation of the book Palemia, memoirs of the Prime Minister of Samoa, Tu'ilaepa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi, the Ambassador of Cuba had the honour and the opportunity to greet and hold a brief exchange with the head of Government of the Pacific nation.
The Cuban diplomat congratulated the Samoan leader on the launch of this interesting text, which summarizes the experiences of the longest serving prime minister in the Pacific region. Tu´ilaepa has been serving in his present post since 1998.
Ambassador Alzugaray also explained arrangements by his government to be present at the 48th Pacific Islands Forum summit, which will be held in Samoa the first week of September. Cuba was accepted as a Dialogue Partner of the Forum in 2014, as a result of a wide range of common interest as Small Islands Development States, an important cooperation in the health sector and a close coordination in multilateral fora.
The event, organized as part of the programme of the visit of the Prime Minister Tu´ilaepa to New Zealand, took place in the prestigious University of Victoria. (Embacuba NZ)
