Vientiane, August 15, 2025. The Cuban Ambassador to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Enna Viant Valdes, participated in the ceremony for the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Lao Front for National Development, formerly the Lao Patriotic Front, Neo Lao Hak Xat, on August 13, 1950. By historical coincidence, our historic leader, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, had been born 24 years earlier. A young man in the full process of revolutionary fervor and maturity, he embraced just causes, and once the Cuban Revolution triumphed, he made the cause of this brotherly country his own and supported the creation of the representation of the then Lao Front in Havana, committed to the struggle for the independence of what is now the Lao PDR.The Cuban diplomat conveyed a heartfelt and supportive message to the current Lao Front for National Development, sent on this significant date by the National Coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo.
