Kuala Lumpur, March 26 - Invited by YB. Wong Chen, President of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba in the Parliament of Malaysia, the Cuban Ambassador in that country, Ibete Fernandez held a talk on the health system in Cuba.
The occasion was propitious to inform parliamentarians and the students in attendance on the recent approval of the new Constitution and Cuba-United States relations.
The attendees showed interest in knowing about the advances of Cuban biotechnology and the situation in Venezuela as well as Cuba's position in this regard. In this sense, the Ambassador ratified the need to avoid an armed intervention that could affect all of Latin American countries and also drew attention to the need to respect international law and the United Nations Charter.
Among the attending Parliamentarians was the Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Lee Boon Chye, who recognized the excellence of the Cuban health system.
The Parliamentary Friendship Group with Cuba in Malaysia was created on November 28.
