Abu Dhabi, February 23, 2023. The Ambassador of Cuba to the United Arab Emirates, Norberto Carlos Escalona Carrillo, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Sultan Muhammad Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister for International Development Affairs at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. At the meeting, both representatives discussed the common interests of their countries in terms of foreign policy for the year 2023, during which Cuba holds the presidency of the G77 Group + China and the UAE organizes the celebration of the Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP 28), which will take place in November in Dubai.
As part of the international events planned to be held in the two nations this year, exchanges of delegations are expected, which will be very favorable to further develop diplomatic and economic ties.
The Cuban Ambassador also referred to the possibilities of expanding cooperation between Cuba and the UAE in all spheres, for the benefit of both peoples and governments. For his part, the Assistant Minister reaffirmed his country's will to continue working together with Cuba to continue promoting bilateral relations.
