Oslo, September 23, 2024. Hanne Melfald, Deputy Director of the Section for UN Policy, Department for Multilateral Affairs, of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received the Cuban ambassador, Maité Rivero Torres.
During the meeting, both highlighted the existing cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the United Nations system.
The occasion was suitable to exchange views on the 79th period of session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) and the issues to be addressed in the coming weeks as part of its agenda, including the necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.
Helene Lindgren Skarpeid, officer in charge of the desk of Cuba in the Ministry´s Section for Latin America and the Caribbean, and Daffne Ernesto Mirabal García, second secretary of the Embassy, were also present in the meeting. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
