The Cuban Ambassador meets with the Minister of Health of Zambia.
Lusaka, December 5, 2024. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Marileydis Dueñas Morales and the Minister of Health of the Republic of Zambia, Hon. Dr. Elijah Julaki Muchima, MP held a fruitful working meeting today at the headquarters of the Ministry itself, in the company of the principal policy Analyst at the Ministry of Health of Zambia, Mrs. Chilweza Musongwe and Dr. Cheelo Mumbuna, a Zambian medical graduate from Cuba.
The meeting was aimed at overall evaluating the possible bilateral collaboration in the health sector, in addition to highlighting the ties of friendship that unite both nations. Possible projects that Cuba has been working on in other neighboring countries in the health field were also discussed, while the possibility of other collaborations was raised, which could undoubtedly contribute to the benefit of both nations.
Cuba has vast experience in the area of Health, with which it maintains historic bilateral cooperation agreements with African, Latin American and Caribbean countries mainly, through the Cuban Medical Services SA that accumulates its experience in coordination with a network of 13 medical universities distributed throughout the country, and have trained more than 40,000 health professionals from 149 countries in undergraduate modalities, medicine, stomatology, nursing, health technology and also postgraduate courses in more than 40 specialties, in a safe environment and in a constant link between theory and practice.(EmbaCuba Zambia- Cubaminrex)
