Cuban ambassador meets with new Deputy Minister for the Americas at Egyptian Foreign Ministry

Cairo, October 6, 2025. Cuba's ambassador to Egypt, Alexander Pellicer Moraga, met this morning at the Egyptian Foreign Ministry with the new deputy minister in charge of the Americas, Ambassador Khaled Azmi.

The cordial meeting highlighted the historic relations of friendship and cooperation between Egypt and Cuba and the positive state in which they currently find themselves. Both diplomats agreed on the need to develop and strengthen economic, commercial, and cooperative relations in areas of common interest, particularly in the field of health and the biopharmaceutical industry, where there is great potential.

The Cuban ambassador congratulated the deputy minister on his appointment and on the day of victory over Israel's occupation of the Sinai Peninsula. He also thanked Egypt for its historic support for the Cuban resolution against the blockade and expressed his confidence that Cuba will be able to continue to count on Egypt in its battle for the complete elimination of the criminal blockade against the island.

For his part, the Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister thanked him for his congratulations and reaffirmed his country's position of support for Cuba in lifting the blockade. He also acknowledged our country's historic position of support for the Arab and Palestinian cause, particularly in the current situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. (Embacuba Egipto)
