Cairo, May 20, 2026. Cuban Ambassador Alexander Pellicer Moraga held a cordial meeting with Mohamed Nawar, President of Egyptian National Radio, at the historic Maspero headquarters in the capital.
During the meeting, they discussed the historic relations of friendship and cooperation between Cuba and Egypt and their future prospects. They also addressed the interest in developing and strengthening relations between the media of both nations, particularly radio.
The Cuban diplomat briefed the President of Egyptian Radio on the difficult situation Cuba is facing due to the intensification of the blockade, particularly the oil embargo, which directly affects basic services for the population, including electricity supply, hospital care, transportation, and food production.
Pellicer Moraga reaffirmed Cuba’s willingness to engage in respectful dialogue with the United States on an equal footing, without preconditions or threats. He also stated that the island would respond in the event of military aggression and that it would be prepared to defend its independence and sovereignty to the bitter end. (EmbaCuba Egipto)
