Islamabad, September 11, 2026. The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Damián Cordero Torres, received a delegation from the Zhob Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ZCCI) in order to promote economic relations and commercial exchange between Pakistan and Cuba.
During the meeting, Mr. Asfandyar Khan Mandokhail, President of the Zhob Chamber of Commerce—located in northern Balochistan province—expressed his interest in marketing products from that Pakistani region in the Cuban market. At the same time, he expressed interest in reviewing Cuba's offering catalog and exploring the possibility of coordinating an exchange with his counterpart on the Island.
The Cuban Ambassador updated the delegation on opportunities in Cuba resulting from recent shifts in the economic and social outlook, following the approval of 176 measures aimed at economic recovery and attracting foreign markets through expedited and secure processes.
Similarly, the Ambassador provided the business representatives with an overview of the situation in Cuba stemming from the intensified and multidimensional U.S. government blockade against the Island, while reassuring them of the Cuban nation's capacity and resilience to overcome these challenges.
The Cuban diplomat also praised the delegation's interest and initiative, inviting them to participate in upcoming trade events on the Island and suggesting the possibility of arranging exploratory meetings with their Cuban counterparts.
