The Cuban Ambassador to the Netherlands meets with the permanent representative of Nicaragua to the international organizations based in The Hague.

The Hague, April 2, 2025. The Cuban Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Eva Yelina Silva Walker, was received by Ambassador Carlos José Argüello Gómez, Permanent Representative of Nicaragua to the international organizations based in this European country.

In an atmosphere marked by the fraternity that unites their respective peoples and governments, both diplomats agreed on the willingness to exchange on issues of common interest during the performance of their missions.

The occasion was propitious to address issues on the current status of contentious and advisory cases brought before the International Court of Justice, based on the vast experience of Ambassador Argüelles as a jurist of recognized prestige and knowledge of the procedures of the main judicial body of the United Nations.

The Cuban ambassador referred to the tightening of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the U.S. against Cuba for more than six decades and the arsenal of measures that, as part of that hostile policy, have been implemented to cut off all sources of financing for the Cuban economy. He described them as cruel, illegal and in violation of International Law and all norms of coexistence among nations.

Both diplomats evoked historic moments in bilateral relations and highlighted the preclarity and leadership of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
