The Hague, April 25, 2026. On April 23, Ambassador Eva Yelina Silva Walker visited the University of Twente, located in the Dutch city of Enschede, and held a cordial exchange with administrators and researchers from the Faculty of Science and Technology.
The visit provided an opportunity to highlight the achievements and activities of this leading institution and the potential for cooperation with Cuban universities and research centers.
The ambassador emphasized that the Caribbean island places a high priority on the comprehensive training of professionals, a commitment it has maintained despite the extremely difficult conditions resulting from the genocidal blockade imposed by the U.S. government more than six decades ago. She also noted that the Cuban government promotes a Science and Innovation Management System (SGGCI) in the search for creative solutions for the country’s economic and social development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Silva Walker toured the Faculty’s facilities, where important research is being conducted in fields such as health, climate, energy, water, and chip technology.
